Hi friends –
So the humans say we’re rideable! I, Stardust, the taller, svelte blonde, not that BOY, the sorrel, in the top photo, can now get both leads at the canter. It turns out Sandy, second photo, right, is a pacer, so she hardly ever canters, ’cause she can pace so fast she doesn’t need to canter, unless we’re racing the boys across summer pasture to come in for dinner, in which case, yes, she can gallop.

Backgrounder: We adopted Karin, in the funky helmet, both pictures, not the bearded one, although he did help come to get us, in April 2017 … SQUIRREL! … after we were rescued by Morgan lovers from — I can barely say the words — a meat auction.

I still see squirrels and monsters in the strangest places, and there was this time in November 2017, I crashed Kalinda, the younger, resilient human, into a tree, and she lived, even though I broke her helmet, but Sandy says not to worry. It’s all good.

I trotted over some really hard poles the other day and didn’t touch even one. Oh yeah, we both ride in hackamores, but I at least have to learn about bits because I might want to go to some horse shows.

Did you know there’s this thing called clicker training? We get rewards for things like having our feet cleaned … SQUIRREL! … putting our heads down, backing, side-passing, and putting our ears up instead of having sour-puss face. Make your owner try it. There are all sorts of fun games.
Your friend,
Stardust

(Clearly the most beautiful one … OK, that wasn’t nice.)
