Yes, you too can use the nearest fly mask to wrap your sump pump — every barn should have one or two just in case — in a tough, washable mesh filter. Many thanks to my daughter Kalinda, Cindy Carrick and Gregg Doster for emergency troubleshooting during the storm that flooded our barn aisle while I was conveniently off the property. Miraculously, all the stalls stayed dry except for one unmatted stall, which we converted from storage last year and never got around to matting.
